Petrin Hill, Prague
The notion of taking a romantic walk on Petrin hill with our beloved has become a bit of a Prague cliché. Yet as some of my own first dates did indeed take place right here under the cover of these magnificent trees, the place still holds a certain spell over me. Moreover, even these days, especially in the spring, one can see young people strolling up and down the winding pahts hand-in-hand, kissing passionately on the benches or in the grass, directing dreamy looks towards the rooftops of the Little Quarter and the Old Town below them. Apart from star-crossed lovers, Petrin has been an oasis of green and calm for older people with their pets, as well as parents with their children eager to scale the miniature version of Eiffel Tower on top of the hill, or entertain laughing at their own distorted reflections in the mirror maze next to the tower...
